About Us

State Bank of India Officers’ Association (Chandigarh Circle) came into existence in the year 1979 with the carving out of Chandigarh Circle out of Delhi Circle. The association was registered at Chandigarh bearing registration no. is 186/79 under Trade union act 1927 with Com. N. L. Sikka& Com. N. S. Dhamoon being its 1st President & General Secretary respectively. Since then it has never looked back. The Circle Association is proud to be an affiliate to All India State Bank Officers’ Federation, a pioneer in the trade union movement of Officers’ Community in the Country. AISBOF was founded in year 1969 and it represents more than 80,000 officers of SBI. The officers’ movement under the banner of AISBOF is a saga of success, struggles, sacrifices and inspiration to millions of professionals, supervisors, managers, executives and those who are not protected under the industrial disputes or trade unions act. The Federation is affiliated to All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, which is largest Trade Union of Officers in the entire world representing more than 3,20,000 officers of Banking Industry . At present, a militant and vibrant Circle Association having a membership of more than 8500 is led by Com. Sanjay Sharma and Com. Deepak K. Sharma as President & General Secretary respectively. The Circle Association is committed to the welfare of its membership as well as organization with the slogan “SBIOA-Zindabad SBI-Zindabad”. The official Magazine of SBIOA viz. “Bank Officers’ Mail” is very popular amongst its members because of its useful contents concerning them. The monthly subscription of Circle Association for organizational activities is Rs. 50/= per month which is lowest in comparison to all circles. The members of association are also subscribing an additional sum of Rs 100/= per month towards Benevolent Fund, out of which an amount of Rs. 2 lacs is immediately delivered to the bereaved family of an officer in the event of unfortunate demise. We are maintaining guest houses at Shimla, Chandigarh, Manali, Jammu, Amritsar, Patiala and Dharamshala for the use of our members.
